New Covenant Ministries supports our missionary, Ashley MacDonald living in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine. Since November 2008, doors have opened for Ashley to minister alongside local missionaries working with orphans and handicapped children.

In Ukraine, there are over 100,000 orphans living in large state-run orphanages until they graduate between the ages of 15 and 16. Upon graduation, these young people move into state-run dormitories while they study at technical schools. They are completely unprepared for life on their own, and the statistics for orphanage graduates are very grim with 10% committing suicide before their eighteenth birthday, while many others end up involved in prostitution and crime.

We truly believe that all of this can be changed with the love of God. We work with the orphans while they are in the orphanages and after they have graduated, building personal relationships and being an example to them of the love of Jesus.

We also work closely with the directors of not only these facilities, but also of handicapped homes, children’s hospitals, boarding schools and children’s TB hospitals. There are many opportunities to assist in meeting the physical needs of the children under their care by helping to purchase medicines, clothing, appliances and helping with building repairs.
